All you need is... coconut oil!

If there's one thing I can't live without, it has to be coconut oil, hands down. This stuff is just so amazing and can be used in a myriad of different ways. I hope you're ready to fall in love!
  1. Eye Makeup Remover- Coconut oil is so gentle and it gets rid of even waterproof makeup, plus there aren't any hidden ingredients that can cause any harm. All you have to do is soak a cotton ball and apply it to your eye for a few seconds before wiping.
  2.  Face and Body Moisturizer- This stuff is amazing when it comes to replenishing moisture! I have dehydrated, oily, acne-prone skin (try saying that 5 times fast!) and I have not had one breakout since trading my face lotion in for this. It does wonders for the body as well.
  3.  Frizz Tamer- Just put a very teeny amount - depending on your hair length and thickness - and it'll add instant shine, as well as smooth down any frizz.
  4. **Hair Mask- Once a week I cover all of my hair from roots to tips in pure coconut oil and leave it on overnight. The change in my hair has been drastic. It's much softer and I notice that my hair has been growing faster as well. Coconut oil is pretty rad, do to the fact that it's the only oil that penetrates the hair follicle and works its magic from the inside out.
  5. Exfoliant- If dry skin is a problem for you, make a coconut oil scrub and it'll leave skin so silky and smooth. Plus, it's pretty neat how it hardens in the tub and melts once exposed to body heat.
  6. Shaving Lubricant- Switch with shaving cream and be prepared for incredibly smooth legs.
  7. Cuticle Cream- Adds moisture to cuticles, promoting stronger and longer nails.
  8. Internally- Actually ingesting coconut oil has so many different, great benefits. From providing energy to aiding in digestion. If anyone is interested, I will do another post on the health benefits.
Is there a way you use Coconut Oil that is not listed? Are there any oils that you swear by? Comment below!

** Add a few drops of peppermint essential oil and massage into scalp for hair growth.

DIY Time! Hydrating Hair Mask

Ever have those days where you look in the mirror and for a split second you think you just might turn into stone? Yeah, me too. But have no fear, I have a remedy that will make looking into the mirror not so scary. All you need is three simple ingredients, though I must warn you finer-hair girls out there, this might leave you a bit more greasy than silky.

Ingredients:
  • 4 tbsp Organic Olive Oil
  •  1 tbsp Organic Coconut Oil
  •  2 tbsp 100% Pure Honey
What to do:
The most important thing is to make sure all products used are as pure as can be; natural is always better. Bring together all contents to a microwavable bowl. The coconut oil with melt within seconds, making everything easier to mix. Leave it in for about 20 seconds or so. Now that it's warmed up stir and apply liberally. This might easily be one of the messiest hair mask I've ever tried. So if you're like me and hate cleaning up big messes, flip your hair over a sink when applying. Now it's time to wrap it up into a shower cap. If you don't have one, then just use a plastic trash bag. It might look a little silly, but it's not the wackiest thing done in the name of beauty!

Are there any hair mask you swear by? If so leave a comment sharing them with me!

Fall 2013 Makeup Trends

Fall is fast approaching and with it we shed our summer skin and prepare for a different looking world. We trade in our bright pinks for darker hues that compliment the change of the season. If you're like me, then fall is one of your favorite times of year, based solely on the beauty and fashion trends. There's just something mysterious and sexy about this season. Anywho, these are my favorite and most wearable (in my opinion).

(All images taken from google) Vera Wang Fall 2013

be the most wearable, but it's
